A day trip from Arenal to Riu Hotel

On Dec 4th, we were please to be part of Donna Souza´s trip and her family, a very friendly a nice people.

We started the adventure from SJO Airport going to Arenal Volcano. We made a nice tour at the Orchids Garden located in La Garita de Alajuela, about 30 minutes from the Airport. Donna is a Orchids specialist and she found different types of orchids. After the Orchids Garden, we went to visit the Poas Volcano. This visit was fabulous and the volcano let us see the crater. After lunch in one of the local restaurants (La Carreta) in the small town of Poas, we drove through the central mountain range and getting to La Fortuna town, the main city of Arenal Volcano.

When we got to the Oroperndula Waterfall, we got amaze by the beauty of the surroundings. There are 2 rivers, one comes from the Rincon de la Vieja volcano carrying volcanic minerals and the other river is a pristine river. when both rivers join forming a light blue river...
