The airport’s official name is Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport. Most travellers call it Liberia Airport, and it now promotes itself as Guanacaste Airport. Whichever name is on your ticket, the code is LIR.
The beaches are close
Many Guanacaste beach towns are under an hour and a half from arrivals, so you can land in the afternoon and still be at your hotel before sunset.
